Neutrality edit

I find the neutrality of this article heavily impaired. The choice of language reflects a very one-sided, pro-Portugese perspective. An example from the article:

Although the Portuguese military success, the number of monthly casualities never reached zero. Guerrilla forces used to cross the border to perform terrorist actions against the military and the population. Frustration and suspicion mounted, and in this atmosphere some elements of the Portuguese army massacred the inhabitants of the tribal village of Wiriyamu who had collaborated with the guerrillas. [...] The civilian authorities in Lisbon, embarrassed by the alleged atrocities[...]

Guerrilla forces crossed the border to perform "terrorist actions". Massacres by Portugese troops are justified by "frustration" (in many placed of the article). Later in the same paragraph, the atrocities become "alleged atrocities". Also, statements like "devastating civil war", "The violence and brutality of guerrilla campaign actions against [...] the native population [...] were increasing.", "spontaneous outburst of frustration" make the article appear like a statement of the PR department of Portugese military. I believe, large parts of the article should be removed or rewritten, and backed up by appropriate references. Leechuck (talk) 12:00, 20 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

I'm portuguese myself, but have to agree with Leechuck. The language is noticeably very, very POV. I imagine finding sources for this article would be time-consuming, but the language can be made at least a little more neutral right away. As it stands, it is of no justice to either the truth, the people of Mozambique or indeed the people of Portugal. 87.196.167.72 (talk) 02:10, 6 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
