"Open Mic'rs" did show at additional theaters besides the IMAX in Indiana and Ohio. It's four main stars all have national followings. Their previous works include: Caddyshack, A Clock Work Orange, Star Wars and Falcon Crest, Survivor and the Real World. So Open Mic'rs will have a substantial fanbase when released on DVD.

"Open Mic'rs" recieved awards for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor (Dave Dugan) and Best Actress (Mia Lee Bauman) at the Broken Lamp Film Festival in Dayton, OH.
