[Unitled] edit

OSTA-AECO is a non-profit organization representing students from across Ontario. The students have written their own desciption of their organization. I've tried to add the link to their web site but it has been removed by the editor. Those who wish to find it can at http://www.osta-aeco.org/ --CanadaTech (talk) 17:49, 6 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

  • Well, what was undone in this edit was your unexplained and unjustified removal of valid maintenance tags without addressing the problems--a conflict of interest, a clearly promotional tone, and a complete lack of reliable sources verifying the information in the article. I've restored the link, and I urge you to consider that this is an encyclopedia, not an advertising forum for organizations. BTW, you were warned about having removed those tags; I think you should pay heed to messages on your talk page. Thanks, Drmies (talk) 17:59, 6 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
Information about OSTA-AECO can be cited to their website at www.osta-aeco.org. I'm not sure how to cite websites on wikipedia, so please feel free to find the necessary information there to make this page more legitimate. I have also removed some sentences that could be misunderstood as promotional. Please feel free to edit, but do not simply delete large paragraphs of information... Per the above issues from 2012, I have removed about thirty self-published sources and the accompanying text. The article has obviously been persistently edited by COI users. If you happen to be reading htis and are related to the article subject, Wikipedia is not a platform for advertising your organization. It is a platform for summarizing your accomplishments and activities in an encylopedic form, as long as those things have been reported on by independent sources.
