Major Rewrite edit

I have completely rewritten this article. As it was, the article was a cut-and-paste job from the both the DTI article as well as the OTOP official website. I have updated the links to OTOP and kept the link to the DTI article, though I have not kept any text from that website. PaintedCarpet (talk) 06:19, 22 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Nice work! Recognizing the source material, I've made further changes to avoid typical government/business jargon. For example, I've suggested changing this:
In keeping with DTI's thrusts and priorities, OTOP Next Gen shall also align support to DTI and PDP-identified priority industries. OTOP products shall still leverage on “Pride of Place” and cultural value while working in the backdrop of market-responsiveness.
...to:
In keeping with DTI's mission and priorities, OTOP Next Gen also seeks to align support to DTI and PDP-identified priority industries. OTOP products shall still emphasize “Pride of Place” and cultural value, while focusing on marketability.
Re this passage, though:
It enables localities and communities to determine, develop, support and promote culturally-rooted products or services where they can be the best at or best renowned for.
What does the part beginning with "where they can be the best..." actually mean? I'd suggest an edit, but I'm baffled. – AndyFielding (talk) 10:15, 29 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Examples of OTOP Products edit

I realize this is a bit of an arbirtary list. I have attempted to give a representative list of products backed up by reliable sources. If anyone else has references and examples to add to this list, I encourage them to do so. PaintedCarpet (talk) 06:21, 22 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
