Using an infobox edit

10-Sep-2007: I have added an infobox, with a locator map, by using "Template:Geobox_Settlement" as a commonplace (but massive-file) infobox. (Even larger is newer "Template:Geobox" which has grown to 107kb(!) or 3x larger). Those insanely huge infoboxes are commonly used; however, changing to a Denmark-specific infobox, such as showing a small Denmark-flag icon, would be OK. The "jury is still out" on whether "Template:Geobox" should be a standard infobox for places, since it processes "300" parameters about rivers (everything including the "kitchen sink"). Such gargantuan infoboxes warn of the day when "every" WP article will process a megabyte of hundreds of nested formatting templates. In fact that day might be here for infoboxes: the newer "Template:Geobox" processes many sub-templates which might total nearly a megabyte of wiki-code. With growing beauracracies, beware the problems of "form over substance" and "creeping featurism" that can grow where management allows them. -Wikid77 00:00, 11 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
