Ambiguous edit

I don't know what "this" is meant to pick out: in the final sentence of the second to last paragraph of the major section: "There is insufficient evidence on whether she would have considered herself anything other than a woman. Although she is widely thought to be bisexual, this may be a false assumption based on Burmese society's understanding of gender non-conformity at the time."

Is the false assumption that she was bisexual? If so, the first sentence of the same paragraph already covers this. Or is the false assumption that she wouldn't have considered herself trans--as suggested by the previous sentence. Someone who knows this should clarify... 128.210.106.161 (talk) 16:49, 8 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

I've made some edits to clarify. Olive is widely reported/written as bisexual. However, the source states her life and affairs "led journalists to erroneously describe her as 'bisexual.'" Essentially, the false assumption is that she is bisexual rather than lesbian/trans/gender-non-conforming. In my opinion, the sentence adds to the first sentence to clarify why she's know as either bisexual or lesbian rather than just one.
The article sourced is a bit confusing. "this" could refer to her gender identity as well. Paluch's upcoming book (in April 2023) will hopefully give us a more thorough source to expand this article. EmeraldRange (talk/contribs) 17:12, 8 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
