Removal of info on 23 June

POV select fanboy pickings on Reception

This LP was SLAMMED when it came out. I bought it 3 days after it was released, it's listenable, but c'mon! The selection of reviews is very fannish and lopsided. did he really do it all on his own?

lots of it sounds like patrick moraz' own solo album, 'the story of I', & I can hear why vangelis' people thought he was on it. also puzzling is why anderson's overnight competence on multiple instruments didn't affect his performances with yes, either in the studio or live, at any time since the recording of 'olias'. he's rarely seen with more than a tambourine or an acoustic guitar. doesn't this seem odd?

No it doesn't really seem odd, he would play harp and guitar somewhat regularly both on stage and in the studio (and he seems pretty decent as a player on those), plus the cuatro in the studio and (allegedly) keyboards onstage, and it wasn't exactly "overnight" like you say, he spent a lot of time on this album. Also nobody is saying that his instrumental performances on this album are virtuosic, they are mostly simple parts, take even a basic musician and give him access to a bunch of instruments and give him time and he'll come out with something probably resembling this. Not to mention, he didn't really have a need to increase his instrumental prowess in Yes considering he had Rick Wakeman and Steve Howe and Chris Squire with him. I find it perfectly reasonable that he could make this album all on his own. Besides, it's not up to us, it's about what the sources say, and there is no evidence to support the contrary.
