Unnamed Intersection

Please explain the unnamed "inter-section that experiences numerous vehicular accidents per year". What is "numerous"? Is that a total number, or relative to its traffic? What action is being taken? And surely it is people who experience the accidents, not the intersection. Is the accident rate unusual compared to similar intersections in Tecumseh? Essex? Ontario? Canada? Is lore about the intersection a defining feature of what it means to be from Oldcastle? Is there a book, song, play, TV show, or movie about it? Walker at Hwy 3 seems to be a bad one, according to internet search, but it's on the edge of Oldcastle (according to the article) not in the middle.
