Marchant XLA is based on Friden's adapting segments, not on Odhner pinwheel. Two mechanisms work in similar way but they differ as project. Then the Marchant machine previously shown is a very poor example of Odhner Arithmometer. Nevertheless image is interesting and i moved it in Marchant Calculator. Here it could be used as not too far relative of Odhner-like machines, but not as first example! --Ancelli (talk) 09:43, 19 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
