The use of thorough recording and statistics, including of patients' occupations, were pioneered by the 19th century French physician Pierre Charles Alexandre Louis. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK458/ - might be worth a mention. Chiswick Chap (talk) 10:05, 30 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
