Oakland-East Bay Gay Men's Chorus is the largest and most respected gay arts organization in the east bay. It plays a major roll in contributing to the arts in the Oakland region.
The founder Dick Kramer (who is heavily cited in this article) is know as the founder of the gay choral movement in the united states.

Actually, John Reed Sims was an instrumentalist and, although he did found the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus, he immediately turned over the music director position to Dick Kramer in 1978. Dick Kramer took the SFGMC on tour in 1981 across the country, where performances inspired the creation of new gay men's choruses in the performance cities. In addition to being the first music director of the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus, Dick Kramer also founded the Golden Gate Men's Chorus (San Francisco) and the Oakland-East Bay Gay Men's Chorus (Oakland) in the San Francisco Bay Area. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tigger8252 (talk • contribs) 20:32, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

It looks like the Chorus is now simply the Oakland Gay Men's Chorus, the name and main URL associated changed. Challenger l (talk) 10:46, 15 January 2019 (UTC)
