Ole Gunnar Solskjær edit

Hi @Mwtoews, I think you're being a bit too scrupulous in your adherence to WP:DABACRONYM. Ole Gunnar Solskjær is known as "OGS". For example, [1], [2]. WP:DABACRONYM is a fine policy for keeping unwanted entries out of DAB pages, but in this case, this person deserves an entry. Moreover, adding to acronyms to the target article is not always desirable from a readability perspective. Take, for example, Michael Jackson: "MJ" is not mentioned in the article text, yet he rightfully receives an entry on the MJ disambiguation page. Brycehughes (talk) 20:46, 18 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

While it's easy to see the connection between a three word name and three letter initials, a few Google searches shows mostly fan-based results (unless I missed something obvious). I still don't see Ole using or promoting himself as OGS in any way (similar to MJ & Friends), so it's difficult to verify if he is widely known as OGS from verifiable sources. I would still much prefer the article to support this claim than this disambiguation article. But fine to open a discussion here. +mt 10:57, 19 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
Here are a few where he is referred to as OGS: [3], [4], [5], [6], [7], [8]. Think those suffice? Brycehughes (talk) 17:18, 20 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
Yup, these all seem reasonable to confirm that the initialism is widely used. Thanks for the dig! When time permits, could you update Ole Gunnar Solskjær to mention that media refer to him by his initials OGS, with one or two of these links? I'm obviously not familiar enough with the topic to confidently do this. +mt 21:05, 20 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
Nor am I! I'm a rugby guy... Brycehughes (talk) 22:06, 20 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
