That's not why O-Lan dies. The doctor is saving his own face because he's not supposed to say "This is a terminal condition". Wang Lung realizes this as well.

The only reference on this page is to a website that sells essays. That's pretty poor quality, and should be changed. Does anyone know this text well enough to refer back to the original document? 128.250.5.245 (talk) 02:33, 31 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
