There are many uncertainties about Aki Kihara. Why was a tall model type, clearly not suited for an idol like Kihara, selected for Onyanko Club?

Among the many high school girls who appeared on All Night Fuji High School Girl Special, there were several other cute girls who were suitable for idols. Nevertheless, why was Kihara selected over these cute girls?

Why was only Kihara allowed to use her stage name among the many Onyanko Club members? (In addition, apparently Yuriko Yamamori (山森由里子)'s real surname was Amano.)

Why was only Kihara able to avoid dismissal for the smoking scandal?

Did the program's officials accept Kihara's claim that she didn't smoke without question?

If other members had made the same claim as Kihara, Would the officials have exempted them from dismissal in the same way as Kihara? (I definitely don't think so.)

The followings have been mentioned anonymously about Aki Kihara for a long time. "Among the many members of Onyanko Club, Aki Kihara was the only one with a stage name; her real name is Aki Abe". "She's related to Chiyo Abe (阿部知代), a former Fuji TV announcer". "One of her relatives was an executive at a company involved in the production of Fuji TV's programs".

These possibilities are by no means unlikely. In particular, there's probably no doubt that Aki Kihara was her stage name. But of course, anonymous information can't be used as sources.Neko100 (talk) 10:47, 5 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
