The camp was the target of an Israeli airstrike today. Here is a Guardian article about the attack: https://www.theguardian.com/world/video/2023/oct/18/gaza-drone-footage-shows-aftermath-of-strike-on-nuseirat-refugee-camp-video I think this should be mentioned in the article. Sorry, some experienced editors seemed to refuse to include it because they likely wanted to protect something. I hope you understand. Thanks! Natsuikomin (talk) 00:53, 16 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

terrorist deaths vs. civilian deaths

edit

when I read these your of articles I always ask myself why don't the death numbers get broken down? IDF deaths, Hamas deaths, civilian deaths. how are these numbers tabulated? how are these numbers verified? who reports these numbers? 104.148.213.244 (talk) 19:10, 18 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Add a sentence or two in the History section related to the Hamas-Israel War.

On August 8, 2024, after 35 weeks of captivity, 4 hostages kidnapped from the Nova festival (Noa Argamani, Andrey Kozlov, Almog Meir and Shlomi Ziv) were freed by the IDF from the Nuseirat Refugee Camp.

Add text: On June 8th, 2024, the Israeli Defense Force identified four Israeli hostages being hidden in Nuseirat refugee camp by Hamas. Their location had been previously unknown after being kidnapped during the 2023 Hamas-led attack on Israel. After Israeli bombardment, the four hostages were taken back to Israel for medical care.[1][2][3] Zi on this (talk) 11:55, 8 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Someone added this, but I find it curious that you don't find the 100+, including children, killed during the operation worthy of a sentence. Dreameditsbrooklyn (talk) 14:41, 8 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Proposal: Change the number in the population section of the info box from 86,598 to 31,747

Reasoning: Both Citations 1[1] and 29[2] list the population of the camp at 31,747 as both sources keep it separate from the broader Nuseirat municipality population.

This would also be more in line with Info Boxes on the pages for other Refugee camps such as Al-Shati[3] or Rafah[4] Which also separate the population of the camp from the broader municipality while referencing the same source as Nuseirat. Shovern (talk) 12:50, 9 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
