Re-opening edit

The school has re-started some non-accredited coursed under new leadership and branding. An editor has re-named the page to reflect this, but I wonder if it should be a new, linked article? Having a degree-granting, accredited institution morph into something else seems pretty weird. However, I'm not a particularly experienced editor and would appreciate some outside opinion. bendodge (talk) 17:05, 26 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

New Name edit

The university has renamed itself to reflect a broader educational scope; how can we change the page title? Clegs (talk) 11:16, 15 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Protection edit

I've fully protected the page for three days to stop the edit warring that was going on. In content disputes we don't usually use semi-protection, as that would disadvantage anonymous editors. Instead we use full protection to try and get people to use the talk page to talk about their edits. What everyone needs to do now is to discuss the content that is being disputed and to try and come to a consensus about it. And this discussion should focus on Wikipedia's content policies of verifiability, no original research, and neutral point of view. Have a read through those and see if you can't use them to find a solution that everyone can be happy with. And feel free to ask me on my talk page if you have any questions. Extension Ministries edit

Redeemed is a Christian rock band comprised by members of the school who represent the school.[1] The formation of this band has caused an uproar among conservative evangelicals.[2] Some, who are in favor of more progressive worship, have voiced their support. If another editor feels the wording could be improved, they are welcome to do so.

Financial Difficulties edit

During September and October 2013, Northland administration began contacting specific donors with a financial plea to assist Northland with a severe cash shortage. Northland's financial stability was shaken by a significant drop in students after the missional changes led by former and current administrations. Most vendors have been unable to get payments for products and services rendered. Cash flow projections indicate that payroll will not be met in December 2013 unless donations cover the shortfall. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1001:b002:2b1b:8836:2f14:96e5:c28 (talkcontribs) 9 October 2013

Power Struggle edit

I renamed the section "Power Struggle" to be less dramatic. (I'm imitating the style of College of New Rochelle, another school in financial trouble.) I also removed many non-facts. The school was not reincorporated with the IRS; it remains Northland Mission Inc. on the IRS 990 form. The State of Wisconsin might know it as Northland International University Inc., though. Perhaps someone can find a source. The outgoing board members did not cite anything as their reason for resign; that's rumor until someone finds a source. The enrollment was never below 100 students; IPEDS reports 194 in Fall 2014. I can't recall the exact number, but I think was still in the 150-200 range in Spring 2015.

On a side note, I think they won the appeal to get state financial aid based on TRACS accreditation. That's probably the most notable thing about this entire article, since it affects other private schools in the state, and should be expanded. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bendodge (talkcontribs) 22:49, 12 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
