Talk:Northern Territory Legislative Council

I've been doing a bit of research on the Legislative Council from the same sources, and I think this article needs quite a bit of work.

The large table, along with the focus on the initial five electorates, suggests that there were five electorates for the life of the Council, when they only lasted a decade or two. This is confusing at best. It also doesn't really cover the later changes to the membership of the council, which makes some of the later content a bit confusing.

I also worry about some other claims which seem to be a bit questionable - for instance, the article currently claims that the CLP won four seats at the 1968 election. The CLP did not exist until after the Legislative Council was abolished. the Country Party was the dominant conservative party at the time (the NT Liberals having all but collapsed by 1968, but were still running the occasional candidate), and they won four seats at that election (as they'd won several seats at elections before that). Looing at the article again, I can see a few issues with it. Most of the information came from the Jaensch book, which I don't have in front of me. I will have to check whether the National Library has a copy of it.
