Vale of Pewsey

edit

At some point someone has converted Vale of Pewsey into a redirect to this article, which itself contains a link to Vale of Pewsey. I can't find any record of a discussion on doing this, and it makes a nonsense of any links to the vale. It's a bit like making the Weald a redirect to the South Downs. Whether or not it is part of the AONB, the Vale of Pewsey is a whacking great hole in the "North Wessex Downs". I propose to unredirect it and add back some content specific to the hole. Objections? Done - more to be added no doubt. Pterre (talk) 00:03, 9 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Article name

edit

Further to the above, this article's lead paragraph effectively states that there is no such place as North Wessex Downs. The article is about the "North Wessex Downs AONB" and ought to have this (abbreviated or in full) as its title, which indeed was its original name, altered without discussion. I fail to follow the logic of the person who changed it, whose edit summary effectively says "it's an article about an AONB so we don't need to say so". By the same logic (to pluck one of a million examples out of the air) the article about the LNER should be called called "London and North Eastern". Pterre (talk) 00:35, 7 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

AONB's map

edit

This map template requires modifying now that the South Downs National Park has been established and supersedes a couple or the former AONBs. cheers Geopersona (talk)
