Jack McGrath edit

John ("Jack") McGrath, my grandfather, was the President/Chairman (not sure of title) of North Sydney at one time. He died in 1949, before I was born, so I never got a chance to know him.

Can anybody show me where I can find any information about his position with the club, his tenure, and any other references to his official activities with the club?

This would be a piece of wonderful historical information - unfortunately I don't know where to look taht up either. Sorry to keep your hopes up!--Alexio 12:44, 25 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Northern Eagles edit

The name Northern Eagles had little relevance to North Sydney with many people feeling the word Northern represented the Northern Beaches and not the word Norths or North used to describe North Sydney since 1908. The word Eagles reflected directly the Eagle or Sea Eagle of the Manly club and had noting to do with the beloved mascot of the North Sydney club that being the Bear.

lol, why not just say "..the name Northern Eagles was born, which was a bad choice, North Sydney Bears would've been better"

There are a few bits that are a little NPOV and dare I say it, possibly written by a fan! Yeah the Bears got stiffed by Manly but it just needs to be drawn back a little. Also the sections on Norths' final years and the Beagles could be worked on. From the article the club goes from having a bright future to being insolvement in a matter of months. My memory was that Grahame Park didn't get built in time because of a bad winter and Norths wouldn't move back to NSO and so spent a year playing mostly at neutral grounds. Fair use rationale for Image:Northsprem.jpg edit

Image:Northsprem.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Mitchell Pearce edit

The article claims that Mitchell Pearce was a former North Sydney player.

The article on Mitchell Pearce states he has played his entire career to date with the Roosters

These article as they stand need to be corrected or clarified. He either played for Norths, or he didn't. (Perhaps he played for Norths at a lower grade)

This seems to have been cleared up in the article. Pearce played juniors in the North Sydney comp (for Asquith I think) and I'm guessing played rep while he was there. Tigerman2005 (talk) 04:24, 31 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Notable players edit

I have restored the {{notable players}} tag that had been removed by an IP as the issue hasn't been addressed. If someone could add an explanatory note to say what the list signifies, and what the criteria for inclusion is, that would be great, Thanks, Nzd (talk) 23:46, 8 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
