The north kosovska mitrovica doesn't exist, simply put its ILEGAL for the moment
The municipality doesn't exist right now so this section should be removed till the north mitrovica should be municipality based in ahtisaari plan in respect of Rep. of Kosova constitution, so i ask wiki to remove this artcle...Thank you

Hallo. I have a question on the official names for this part of Mitrovica. There seems to be an official Web site (http://kk.rks-gov.net/mnao/) that might confirm that the official names for this place have changed. Would someone (impartial) who can read Albanian and Serbian please confirm whether "Северна Косовска Митровица" is still the official name, or has it been changed to "Северна Митровица"? Therefore, in English, is "North Kosovska Mitrovica" now simply "North Mitrovica"? Would appreciate any help as soon as possible. Proposed move to "North Mitrovica"
Similar to the Mitrovica, Kosovo article, I think the northern part should retain the name "Mitrovica" instead of "Kosovska Mitrovica". Its official name is "North Mitrovica", also approved by OSCE, as the official English name of the city:

North Kosovska Mitrovica → North Mitrovica – Per WP:COMMONAME. The city is most often referred to as North Mitrovica, rather than North Kosovska Mitrovica. International organizations like OSCE, EULEX and international news agencies like BBC, CNN, Euronews use "North Mitrovica". According to the official website, the official name of the city/municipality is North Mitrovica. The name is a de jure and de facto situation. --Relisted. - Support - The common name for the city as a whole is "Mitrovica" not "Kosovska Mitrovica". I decided to do a few google searches to find out what was the common name for the northern half of the city in the English language and set up the results to search for English language results only (which I suppose doesn't matter too much considering that the word 'North' is an English language word and it is unlikely to appear in search results for languages other than English). I did a google books search for 'North Kosovska Mitrovica' and got 4 books, then I did a google books search for 'North Mitrovica' and got 142 books. I then conducted a google news search for 'North Kosovska Mitrovica' and got 28 results (mainly from websites based in Serbia) before I did a google news search for 'North Mitrovica' and got 139 results. Finally I conducted a google scholar (formerly google journal) search for 'North Kosovska Mitrovica' and got 13 journals and for 'North Mitrovica' I got 303 journals. Conclusion - 'North Mitrovica' is the overwhelming common name in the English language. Regards IJA (talk) 19:49, 20 January 2015 (UTC)

Ceвepнa Косовска Митровица
This is getting stupid now. Serbian is a joint official language of Kosovo with Albanian but strictly in Latin only. Look at the Kosovar roadsigns and the passport and all central publishing. In Serbian it is Severena Kosovska Mitrovica, never Ceвepнa Косовска Митровица. No sources at all. Let's keep it neutral (talk) 13:28, 27 January 2015 (UTC)
- The problem with that edit is that there's no good source that says anything about a special "no Cyrillic" exception for usage of Serbian in Kosovo. The distribution of usage may of course vary as everywhere, but even the Kosovo article itself displays both scripts. - Anonimski (talk) 13:36, 27 January 2015 (UTC)

- You don't have to add two translations of Serbian for both names. Keep it neutral and leave it North Mitrovica only (as the only English name); same as Mitrovica, Kosovo. Now I am being told that Cyrillic is being used all over the Kosovar articles. What is this?? Why don't we just put Chinese onto it too, and Japanese alphabet? Kosovo does NOT and never has used Cyrillic. PLEASE will you look at this image which uses Serbian on roadsigns but someone please tell me where the Cyrillic is:

- @Let's keep it neutral: Road signs are not very reliable sources. On the web site of the Kosovo Constitutional Commission "Kushtetuta e Kosoves", there is official text of the Constitution of Kosovo in Serbian cyrillic script (see: [1]). The Constitutional Commission is an official body of the Kosovo government. If they use Serbian cyrillic, why wouldn't we use it here? Or maybe road signs are more important than the Constitution? Do you have any reliable source (written source, document) that proves that cyrillic is not used in Kosovo? Vanjagenije (talk) 15:12, 5 February 2015 (UTC)
- It doesn't matter what is officially used per Wikipedia:Official names. What matters is that there are two main languages used in Kosovo, Albanian and Serbian; Serbian just so happens to use two alphabets and we reflect that here. IJA (talk) 19:35, 5 February 2015 (UTC)

Location, picture, notable people
North Mitrovica is located in Kosovo. In the very first sentence of an article about a city, reader reads the country where the target city is located in. Then, other things like region where the city is can be added to inform the reader, but region can not replace the country. Some editors do not have the ability to understand even such easy things. The article is "North Mitrovica" and the very first picture has to represent the city itself, and not a religious building or a community. Regarding notable people section and university thing, it is OK to keep them, but only after sources are presented. Ktrimi991 (talk) 11:36, 21 August 2016 (UTC)
