Talk:North Greenwich, Isle of Dogs

Area name edit

Is there any source for the origin of the name? Was the area on the Isle of Dogs once part of the same holding/authority as Greenwich proper (as with North Woolwich), or did the name only spring up with a ferry/foot tunnel connection? Or even was it the railway trying to attract custom despite the station being somewhat distance ("doing a Ryanair", as we might say today)? Timrollpickering 07:31, 30 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
