Incorrect national championships edit

NDSU did not win Division II national championships in 1965, 1966 and 1967. NCAA Division II did not exist in those years. NDSU's first 3 National Championships where in the "College Division" and occurred in 1965, 1968 and 1969. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.2.242.82 (talkcontribs)

Okay how do we want to deal with the 1965, 1968, and 1969 championships? Under the Wikipedia article NCAA Division II Football Championship it says the following "From 1964 to 1972, four regional bowl games were played that led up to a wire service poll to determine the final champion of Division II's predecessor, the NCAA College Division." — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mcdowellju (talkcontribs) 03:03, 18 July 2015 (UTC) Reply

Pro-Sioux nonsense edit

MY GOD! Who writes this crap?

The references to UND are overdone and unnecessary! Pro-Sioux bias is creeping in again.

Low Importance Rating edit

Why does this article have a low-importance rating?

TRBUFF 19:02, 11 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

As it is, this article actually has two importance ratings. The low importance rating that you refer to is the rating that WikiProject College football has applied to their WikiProject banner for their purposes. WikiProject North Dakota has not yet rated the importance of this article because there is still some discussion over exactly how we should carry out the importance rating for WPND articles. It's very possible that the two WikiProjects that this article is a part of could end up rating the article at different levels of importance. For instance, while the college football WikiProject rates the importance of the article as low, it is possible that WPND may end up rating it something more along the lines of mid-importance. Think of it this way, in all of college football, the NDSU Bison football program is not extremely notable and that must be why the college football WikiProject chose a low importance rating. On the other hand, the NDSU football program is much more notable when you're considering just the state of North Dakota so we should probably give it an importance rating higher than just low. For the time being, I think it would be best for you to not worry about the importance rating of any individual ND articles. That feature really hasn't been implemented/utilized yet anyways. --MatthewUND(talk) 22:40, 11 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Infobox edit

Has anyone noticed that the infobox about Bison Football is a College Basketball infobox?TRBUFF 14:36, 12 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have noticed that. A little odd, but I guess it works. I'll try to find a College Football infobox. --MatthewUND(talk) 20:59, 12 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Infobox II edit

Here ya go, I put it in and filled out everything to the best of my knowledge, I could only get the NCC championships from 1964 onward, but I believe there were 26 in total, I only have 23 listed so it'll require a few more. I believe the overall record is correct, I compiled that from the site the little box thingy points to. other than that, everything should be good to go... feel free to change it, remove it, whatever, I just figured you needed something to work from AC710N87 04:27, 29 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Standardization edit

I have noticed all of the NDSU sports pages look different. I think we should standardize them... --NDState 05:06, 31 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Good idea, first of all we need to fight that they don't get deleted Leopold Samsonite 05:08, 31 August 2007 (UTC)Leopold SamsoniteReply
I agree, it seems as if the person may be anti-NDSU. There were others and we have squashed them. Good thing MatthewUND usually helps us out ;) Now we just need to add a lot of info to help solidify the articles. I think I will give old athletics a call --NDState 05:19, 31 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
I just made a comment over on the WPND talk page saying that, while I would personally like to see all UND and NDSU sports articles saved, I think the ones we need to fight for the most (and the ones for which notability is probably the easiest to establish) are UND and NDSU football, UND and NDSU basketball, UND hockey, and NDSU wrestling. Those seem to be the biggest sports at UND and NDSU...I'm right about the wrestling program being really big at NDSU, right? Anyways...that's what I'm thinking right now. I think we're probably going to be losing quite a few of the ND high school sports articles. --MatthewUND(talk) 05:31, 31 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
You know in all honesty I think I hear more about women's volleyball and baseball then wrestling, then again thats just me. What are the reasons for removing all of the articles? Is the wiki foundation really hurting for server space? --NDState 05:42, 31 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
AfDs (AfD=Article for Deletion) are a common occurrence on Wikipedia. It is important that only notable things be given articles on Wikipedia...otherwise just about anything would have its own article and Wikipedia would be one big mess of useless trivia. The problem lies in just what each user defines as "notable". Tricky, indeed. --MatthewUND(talk) 05:55, 31 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

2007 Season edit

Should we include a section on the 2007 season? I see a lot of other college football team articles that do. TRBUFF 21:22, 6 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sure --NDState 03:20, 7 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

edit

I put the new Bison logo up in the infobox.TRBUFF 22:25, 6 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Rivalries edit

Why were the Sioux put in the rivalries section? While they were rivals of the past they are not rivals now. I dont think I have seen any other page that lists "historical" rivalries. I see no reason to put them in the infobox. --NDState 06:18, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Bison Alternative Logo.gif edit

Image:Bison Alternative Logo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Current NFL Players edit

Was thinking maybe we could include a list of current NDSU players in the NFL.

All Americans edit

I have been watching NDSU football for years now. I don't believe that Carson Wentz was an All-American QB outside of being a preseason selection. Can someone look this up to make sure? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mcdowellju (talkcontribs) 05:56, 9 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Move the Chains edit

I remember "Move the Chains" as something far earlier than the late 90's. In fact, I have heard anecdotal stories of it prior to 1990. That should be corrected by someone with better knowledge but that is inaccurate.
