Bawdy song edit

i can't document it ,but i remeber a song with this title. the chorus went: so away, away with a fife and drum, here we come, full o' rum, lookin' for women who'll peddle their bum, to the north atlantic squadron. Toyokuni3 (talk) 04:15, 12 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Here's how I learned it in NAVY boot camp. There are many versions with lots more, shall I say colorful, verses around the internet. I seem to recall a verse about a sally girl but I can't remember it. I'll make an edit if it comes back to me.

Chorus
Away, away with fife and drum
Here we come, full of rum
Looking for women who peddle their bum
In the North Atlantic Squadron

For forty days and forty night
We sailed the wide Atlantic
Without a piece of ass in sight
It nearly drove us frantic
When on the shore we spotted a whore
And off came shirts and collars
When 15 minutes by the clock
She made 10,000 dollars

[CHORUS]

The captain loved his cabin boy
He loved him like a brother
Every night below the decks
They corn holed one another
Oh cabin boy oh cabin boy
You dirty little nipper
You stuffed your ass with broken glass
And circumcised your skipper

[CHORUS]

Before the 1890s edit

There was a US North Atlantic Fleet during the Civil War. This article should be expanded to include it.--Toddy1 (talk) 10:45, 23 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
