"67 squadron RFC" was never more than an administrative fiction! edit

Simply - "67 squadron RFC" was the RFC designation for a unit that had been formed in Australia as "1 squadron AFC". To its own personnel - and to the administration of the Australian AIF it remained no 1 squadron. In early (I believe Feb) 1918 this position was officially recognised by the British. The RAF was formed on April 1 1918 - at which time there was no such thing as "67 squadron RFC" in anyone's books - hence no such unit as "67 squadron RAF". When the RAAF was formed after the war no. 1 squadron RAAF took over the traditions of no. 1 squadron AFC - they clearly do not belong to 67 squadron RAF in any sense. --Soundofmusicals (talk) 10:48, 18 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
