About merge proposal edit

It has been over a year since the merge was proposed and no-one has discussed it.

I agree with merging it as all references i can find treat it as a synonym of Niolamia. 148.197.248.25 (talk) 21:29, 2 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Tisquesusa: see above for my opinion on merger you suggested (although it was a year ago so you might not remember proposing the merge). 148.197.248.25 (talk) 21:35, 2 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Merge with what FunkMonk (talk) 21:40, 2 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
Niolamia. (Sorry forgot to mention above). 148.197.248.25 (talk) 21:47, 2 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
Yes, that's this article, but what else should it be merged with? FunkMonk (talk) 21:49, 2 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
Crossochelys should me merged into Niolamia (link was from the Crossochelys article so thought it was that articles talk page).148.197.248.25 (talk) 21:52, 2 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
Oh well, sources treating them as such should be added to this article, then. FunkMonk (talk) 21:56, 2 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
Reference added, its beyind a pay wall as its a book but it was the major one I could find (all others seemed to reference them and agree with the findings). 148.197.248.25 (talk) 22:23, 2 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
Merge. I'm not a turtle expert, but having two separate articles will cause confusion for some users. At the least, Crossochelys should be mentioned as a synonym in the first paragraph.--Quisqualis (talk) 22:37, 2 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
added another reference that is not behind a paywall. 148.197.248.25 (talk) 22:57, 2 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Niolamia, not an anagram of Meiolania? Ponsdedons (talk) 14:06, 25 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

In the introduction it says "Arthur Smith Woodward classified it as being in the genus Meiolania, which this genus name is an anagram of, but this was not accepted by later authors." However, Niolamia is not a complete anagram of Meiolania - missing an 'e' in the name (or was the original genus name spelled differently?). Could not find a mention of this in the cited publication either. Ponsdedons (talk) 14:08, 25 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
