Exact composition ? edit

Is it a stoichiometric crystal ? If not, How does Tc vary with the % of tin ? Rod57 (talk) 23:21, 2 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

The phase diagram shows a vertical band (not line) for Nb3Sn - Is that labelled correctly ? - Rod57 (talk) 09:03, 4 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Illustration "Unity cell of the A15 phases of Nb3Sn": Are you sure? edit

Surely the illustration is wrong? The Sn are shown at the vertices of the unit cube, giving one Sn per unit cube (e.g. 8 Sn shown, one on each vertex, 1/8 of each is interior to the cube.) The Nb are shown as 2 per face of the unit cube, giving 6 Nb per unit cube (e.g. 12 Nb shown, two on each face, 1/2 of each is interior to the cube.) So why is it Nb3Sn and not Nb6Sn? Or should there only be one Nb per face, and not two as shown? Penguian (talk) 01:45, 23 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

You missed the one tin in the centre of the cube. Sn (1 + 8 x 1/8)=2 and Nb (6 * 1/2 *2)=6.--Stone (talk) 18:14, 24 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
