His Royal Highness Alhaji Yunusa Mohammadu Danyaya edit

His Royal Highness Alhaji Yunusa Mohammadu Danyaya is a distinguished and highly respected first-class traditional ruler in the north east geographical zone of Nigeria. He is the emir of NINGI in bauchi state. He is highly adored by his subject for his sense of justice, fairness and equity. His tenure has witnessed rapid transformation of Ningi from a rural community to fast developing modern town.

Alhaji Yunusa was born in Ningi in 1936. He attended Ningi elementary school between 1941 and 1946.he proceeded to Bauchi middle school in 1946 and proceeded to bauchi middle school in 1946 and completed his studies there in 1951.he later enrolled in school of hygiene Kano in 1957. Alhaji Yunusa also attended Ahmadu Bello University Zaria (ABU) for a one year course in public administration between 1956 and 1957. Similarly, he attended a course at the British council Kano between 1959 and 1960. Between 1960 and 1962 he obtained a diploma in public administration from ABU Zaria.

As a foremost administrator he had a distinguished record of service in the native authority (NA) administration. He started out as a dispenser at nasaru dispensary, Ningi between 1953 and 1958. He was a member of the Ningi emirate council from 1956 to 1960. He served as councilor medical and health department (1958-1959). From 1954 to 1956, he was a member of Ningi N.A outer council. He serves as councilor works, police and prisons (1959-1960) and was a member of the Ningi N.A strong room controllers (1956-1960). He was turbaned district head and CHIROMAN Ningi in 1959.

He took a career detour when he joined the Nigerian tobacco company, Zaria in 1963 as a welfare officer. He served there until 1967 when he switched over to the northern Nigeria marketing board as assistant marketing officer. He was made assistant officer in charge of Gusau and Kaura Namoda in 1968. Through a dint of hard work he was eleventh to the position manager, Maiduguri groundnut depot in 1969. He took of the highest responsibilities when he was appointed sub-area manager in charge of Gombe, Biu, and Kumo in 1970. He was transferred in 1974 and was virtually in charge of Yola, Mubi and Mambila. In 1976 he was appointed acting area manager incharge of north east states maketing board. Alhaji Yunusa also served as a chairman asset hearing committee between northern states Benue, plateau marketing boards. He was crowned as EMIR OF NINGI in 1978 and was subsequently upgraded to the first class status in 1988.

As a leading light of the jama`atul nasrul Islam (JIN), he has chaired many committees such as the zakkat committee. He is a member of the finance and general purpose committee of JIN. He was a member of the national council of the states representatives’ bauchi state council of chiefs from 1979 to 1983. he served as acting chairman board of directors of inland bank Nigeria plc between 1988 and 1991.between 1989 and 1991 he also served as the director, Hadejia jama`are river basin development authority.

He brought his wealth of experience to bear as a member of the national constitution conference between 1994 and 1995. He was a member of the traditional ruler sub committee of version 2010 committee between 1996 and 1997. He served for three years as chairman, board of Directors College of legal and Islamic studies, misau, bauchi state (1996-1999). He also served as member federal government hajj delegation. He was at one time, amirul hajj, bauchi state hajj delegation. He has been the chairman of the environmental health officer’s registration council of Nigeria (EHORECON) since 2004 and chairman, bauchi state inter-religion council since 2005.

Several awards and honors have trailed the part of Alhaji Yunusa. He is a grand patron national committee health practitioners association of Nigeria. Grand patron jama`atul nasrul Islam, bauchi state chapter. He was conferred with the award of distinguished environmental health officer by the professional; association of environmental health office of Nigeria. The emir is a distinguished fellow co-operate administrator of the institute of cooperate executive of Nigeria. He is also a patron non governmental association for literacy support services, bauchi state chapter. Lately he was a made the grand patron of afe-anang (akwa ibom indigenes community associations bauchi state chapter).

His royal highness has visited many countries like the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada Egypt, Saudi Arabia, south Africa, Namibia and other west African countries. His hobbies include horse riding, farming and traveling. He is happily married and is blessed with 24 children.

In recognition of his contributions to national development in the sphere of community leadership that his royal highness Alhaji Yunusa Mohammadu Danyaya was conferred with the development in Nigeria merit award and the most prestigious Nigeria national honors awards as the OFFICER OF THE ORDER OF NIGER, OON.
