Name of the article
editNo one has given this fight any name, so I based the name on the general geographic area. I'm open to changes (although I do like what I came up with) Observer31 (talk) 06:24, 19 December 2015 (UTC)
- I see someone changed the name from Offensive to offensive - I think that's better actually since this isn't an "official" title, just a description of the event. Observer31 (talk) 15:48, 28 December 2015 (UTC)
Notability
editThis has been described as the most significant ISIL attack in Iraq in 5 months, so I think it definitely meet the criteria. At this time the article is rough but I am adding to it. Observer31 (talk) 06:24, 19 December 2015 (UTC)
I've added it to the Iraqi Civil War (2014–present) timeline box, as I've been searching wikipedia for the past few days for this battle.Mogdonazia (talk) 22:43, 19 December 2015 (UTC)
Geography
editA challenging part of this article is the geography - the location of attacks are reported by local kurdish news, who use names of location that don't see to correspond to Wikipedia nomenclature. If someone could connect the dots, so to speak, it would be great. So far I believe that Bashik is Bashiqa but I am not certain. Observer31 (talk) 23:21, 19 December 2015 (UTC)
Turkey as a combatant
editI've been seeing lots of edits back and forth regarding if Turkey was a combatant in this battle or not. Could we discuss and get a consensus? Observer31 (talk) 07:35, 3 January 2017 (UTC)
