I don't know who rated it a stub, but its a fairly long article, it still could use a bit of cleanup, I'm ranking it B-class FinalWish 04:59, 17 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Borglogo.jpg edit

Image:Borglogo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 02:54, 1 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Rate Attribute Review Comment
1. Well-written:
1a. the prose is clear, concise, and understandable to an appropriately broad audience; spelling and grammar are correct.

"and the train is slowed down on the brake run" What happens after the brake run?   Done

Carowinds (2004—present) Can we do without this heading? Seems unneccessary, as the bits in it explain this, please remove it.   Done

"That button has been fixed to only operate while the ride is stopped.[20]" I'm not sure if "fixed" is the right word for this. The button worked perfectly as intended by the manufacturer prior to this, nothing was wrong from a mechanical point of view. Could we please change the wording?   Done

"several footers are still locate" What is a footer?   Done

1b. it complies with the Manual of Style guidelines for lead sections, layout, words to watch, fiction, and list incorporation.

"riders hit the final" Can we rewrite to remove the "hit" part?   Done

2. Verifiable with no original research:
2a. it contains a list of all references (sources of information), presented in accordance with the layout style guideline.
2b. reliable sources are cited inline. All content that could reasonably be challenged, except for plot summaries and that which summarizes cited content elsewhere in the article, must be cited no later than the end of the paragraph (or line if the content is not in prose).
2c. it contains no original research.
3. Broad in its coverage:
3a. it addresses the main aspects of the topic.

"The ride is now loosely themed after the bird, a Nighthawk." can we have more detail regarding the nighthawk theme?   Done

3b. it stays focused on the topic without going into unnecessary detail (see summary style).

  4. Neutral: it represents viewpoints fairly and without editorial bias, giving due weight to each.
  5. Stable: it does not change significantly from day to day because of an ongoing edit war or content dispute.
6. Illustrated, if possible, by media such as images, video, or audio:
6a. media are tagged with their copyright statuses, and valid non-free use rationales are provided for non-free content.
6b. media are relevant to the topic, and have suitable captions.
  7. Overall assessment. Pending

I have addressed all your comments. I don't think there's anything to add to the Nighthawk theme. The roller coaster's name is really the only thing that relates to it.-- Astros4477 (Talk) 16:45, 9 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

I changed the wording and removed the other two headings.-- Astros4477 (Talk) 21:00, 11 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

I added a link for footer.-- Astros4477 (Talk) 21:51, 12 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

GA Reassessment edit

This discussion is transcluded from Talk:Nighthawk (roller coaster)/GA2. The edit link for this section can be used to add comments to the reassessment.

I'm sorry to do this Astros, but the article was not reviewed properly in terms of references.

Issues edit

  • The ride is now loosely themed after the bird, a Nighthawk." - Needs a ref.
  • Most of the refs in the article are un-reliable. This needs to be fixed with better ones.
    • Could you be specific about which refs are unreliable?-- Astros4477 (Talk) 05:38, 15 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Refs 5, 18, and 19 are dead refs.

--Dom497 (talk) 21:44, 14 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

I am closing this reassessment as the reliablity of the references is being disputed. I have raised the concern of dead refs not being part of the criteria and may re-open this review if dead refs become part of the criteria. The article will remain as a GA for now.--Dom497 (talk) 20:03, 15 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Dispute over notability of references edit

Please advise where this discussion is taking place. Thanks. --GoneIn60 (talk) 21:02, 15 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Seems like Dom opened a GAR here because of the references, Astros queried it, and the discussion was closed. Themeparkgc  Talk  23:08, 15 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned references in Nighthawk (roller coaster) edit

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Nighthawk (roller coaster)'s orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
