My Concern to the general body of Quantity Surveyors in Nigeria.

Been over excited about the course I love to study in the higher institution, I finally landed myself in Quantity Surveying department. Literally, that means I am studying to be a quantity surveyor...

I wouldn't let my passion to excel die, maybe because of some stupendous things going on with the profession I am studying to to be.

My concerns brought so many questions to my TABLE which I think it is necessary to share it with the general world if my concerns can be answered.

It seems Quantity Surveying is less active higher institution. We are familiar with so many profession in the building industry but the cost consultant are not heard. Maybe because they do not respect there value, who knows.

However, the privileged of schooling in Kebbi state has opened my eyes to see the effect and the arising need for Quantity Surveyors to stand to there ground and penetrate the building world that it will be so much that a lay man will understand the facet which a quantity surveyor occupied in his or her construction..

The more we tend to stay behind the scenes brings calamity to the world of building, because so many structures are suffering because there's no proper management of clients money which limit most of them to settle for less standard building which most at times turns out to be one of the worst vision of the (clients). Making blur the vision of clients has devastated the advantage of Quantity Surveyors to the lime light..

One of the cure for this is to create more public awareness of who we are, what we do and our value in delivery of how we do things.

As professional on this field, do not let your social Media handles lacks the description of who you are, so that you can be portrayed to the outer world. Senior colleagues of the field in higher respect should also lias with secondary schools to amplify the profession of which we possibly improve our credibility when we have numbers.
