His position in Coalition ranks edit
He is the Deputy Nationals leader but also the Nationals Senate leader as well. So in the event that the Liberal leader, the Nationals leader (being the Deputy leader of the Coalition) and the Deputy Liberal leader are all out of the country who would be the Acting Opposition Leader, Senator Scullion or the Liberal Senate Leader Senator Nick Minchin. While the Liberal Senate leader does outrank the Nationals Senate Leader, I would think that the Deputy Nationals leader (overall) outranks the Liberal Senate leader. So who is higher ranking Minchin or Scullion?--The Shadow Treasurer (talk) 02:49, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
Cross-benchers edit
National Party Senators can't be said to be cross benchers, at least not yet. They are part of the Opposition.JQ (talk) 07:41, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
