The statement that "nieto" came into the Spanish language through contact with Sephardic Jews in Spain in completely incorrect (note that this claim is unsourced in this article). In fact, the word is a direct descendant of Vulgar Latin "nepta" (Classical Latin "nepos"), ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *h₂népōts. [1] Thus, the origin of the word is most definitely not Semitic.
