Ethnicity in the lede

edit

An IP has added African-American to the lede a few times. Is her ethnicity part of her notability? --Malerooster (talk) 19:14, 7 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

I have reverted this again. If anybody wants to make the case that ethnicity is related to Beharie's notability, fine, do it here and if there is consensus for this, then so be it, otherwise, MOSBIO is clear on this that ethnicity is NOT to be in lede. --Malerooster (talk) 15:43, 16 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
That contention is demonstrably false. WP:OPENPARA specifies that: "Ethnicity or sexuality should not generally be emphasized in the opening unless it is relevant to the subject's notability." Nicole Beharie has been nominated by the African-American Film Critics Association & the Black Reel Awards on five separate occasions, rendering inclusion of this info relevant to the subject's notability. Just to be clear here, you are saying that Beharie's ethnicity is relevant to her notability? Does any other editor agree with that? --Malerooster (talk) 01:08, 18 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
I can't see how it's relevant Milzo1986 (talk) 21:08, 20 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
