Comments edit

I removed the remarks about Hindus and Buddhists because it was misleading. True, no Buddhist has been considered Brahman (or at least, extremely rarely). But currently the vast majority of Indian Shramana are non-Buddihist, this was true during the period in question and probably has always been true. Even in the very zenith of Indian Buddhism (Ashoka) the word never implied Buddhism and was, I judge, fact far more likely to refer to a Jain or Hindu. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.22.78.17 (talk) 22:19, 10 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Removal of a Reference edit

Following the initial opening lines of this article, a reference is used that does not support the assertion in the 2nd citation of the opening of the article, so I am removing it and leaving it in the bottom with External References. Stevenmitchell (talk) 01:13, 6 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
