  • Lead doesn't adequately cover the article content; needs expansion.
  • "Solak married his girfriend, Roxanne McVey, on November 20, 2021" - I'm not finding this in the provided source; where is it located on the page?
  • Do any sources mention if he was regarded as a prospect in high school?
  • What position did he play in high school and college?
  • The college career information is very uneven - we get a fair bit about his freshman year, but nothing about his sophomore year and very little about his junior year. We should be getting some detail for his sophomore year and definitely more for his junior year, since he was an All-American that year. In the internet age, that generally leads to decent coverage
  • "He made his professional debut with the Staten Island Yankees" - source says this was expected, not that it actually occurred
  • "Solak maintained a batting average over .300 the entire season for the Tampa Yankees," - ambiguous phrasing. This could mean either than his full-season batting average was over .300 or that his batting average was above .300 the entire time; recommend rephrasing
  • For baseball articles at GA level or above, you need to link/explain the triple slash numbers, as they're not all that common outside of baseball/softball
  • For all of the various minor league teams, you'll want to indicate what level of the minors the team is at
  • "Solak finished the 2019 season hitting .293/.393/.491 with 5 home runs and 17 RBI over 33 games for Texas." - source following this just covers the spring speed, you need to add the general stats link as well
  • "In 2020 Solak played at a variety of positions, as well as being a designated hitter. " - not seeing this in source?
  • "(a tie for the club lead with Isiah Kiner-Falefa)" - not in source
  • There need to be some sort of coverage for the 2022 season besides just saying that he was optioned to AAA
  • Did he make the Opening Day roster in 21 or 22?
  • There's a ton of missing coverage here. The article is quite thin on detail in most places. This contains some good coverage about his earlier career, the " "Naperville North grad Nick Solak wastes no time signing with New York Yankees"" source contains more detail about his college career, etc.
  • Per Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Baseball/Archive_44#The_Baseball_Cube_links, I don't think the Baseball Cube is great to use as a source
  • I don't believe that mlbtraderumors is a great source for GA-level content
  • His career statistics are not cited
  • His middle name is never cited
  • His handedness is never cited

That's a first pass from me. Once these are addressed, I'll go over it again. Hog Farm Talk 01:33, 21 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hog Farm, several facts are cited at Solak's MLB profile page : "Solak married... November 2021" and the statement on Kiner-Falefa can be fount if you click on the "View more bio info" on the left, under Solak's photo. The MLB profile also cites his middle name (immediately under Solak's photo in bold), handedness (immediately to the left of 2B), and career statistics in a box. I should've remember that more bio tab from when I worked on Brooks Pounders ... It looks like it contains a fair bit of information for Solak that should be included in the article such as "ranked by MLB.com as the No. 5 second base prospect following the season…ranked by Baseball America as the No. 14 prospect in the Florida State League" Hog Farm Talk 02:28, 21 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Hog Farm: Although I haven't gone over all of your points yet, I would like you to take another look at the page since around half of the issues are gone now. Also, you may see my progress at User:NotReallySoroka/Solak. Thanks, NotReallySoroka (talk) 03:29, 21 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
I'd rather not go over it again until the sourcing issues are fixed - it looks like from your list that there's still one source-text integrity issue outstanding and then the baseball cube issue. I'd rather not go back over something if it's likely to need to change again before round 2. Hog Farm Talk 18:38, 21 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Hog Farm: I fixed the sourcing issues and most of the problems listed here. NotReallySoroka (talk) 02:28, 22 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
I'll take another look, hopefully tomorrow. Hog Farm Talk 04:02, 22 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. NotReallySoroka (talk) 04:04, 22 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
Wound up being busier than I expected; it's gonna be another day. Hog Farm Talk 02:47, 23 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • Any information about his 2015 year in college?
  • "as well as a slash line of a .376 batting average, .470 on-base percentage, and a .564 slugging percentage.[17] four home runs, and 26 RBIs in his 42 games played." - something has gone wrong with the sentence breaks here5
  • It looks like he was drafted 62nd overall; recommend a source mention
  • "(now collegiate summer) Trenton Thunder on August 1" - I don't think it's really useful to mention where the team is now, rather just where it was when Solak played for them
  • Did he hit any home runs in 2020?
  • " "#2 2014 Vermont Mountaineers". baseball-reference.com. Archived from the original on June 11, 2022. Retrieved June 11, 2022." - the #2 doesn't seem to belong in the source title

This one's looking far better than it did when the review started. Good work so far! Hog Farm Talk 02:20, 24 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Hog Farm: I have attended to all your suggestions. NotReallySoroka (talk) 02:57, 24 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
I'll take another look tomorrow; I don't imagine there's much left to do. Hog Farm Talk 03:09, 24 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
Passing for GA. There'd need to be some more expansion for FAC, but I think it's fine for GA. Hog Farm Talk 16:47, 25 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Hog Farm: First, thank you for reviewing this page. There'd need to be some more expansion for FAC: If you have time, what would you recommend? NotReallySoroka (talk) 17:31, 25 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
For FAC, it'll need to be more thorough in its coverage in general. For instance, you'll want to try to find old newspaper coverage to flesh out his college career, most of what's in the MLB bio should be included, and going through all of the available sources to make anything of significance is covered - for instance, his prospect rankings. I've never taken a baseball bio above GA (again, see Pounders as my most recent baseball work and that's from awhile ago). GhostRiver brought Tyler Skaggs to FA, so they might be a better person to ask. Hog Farm Talk 17:37, 25 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
