I am very interested in contributing to the Newland entry. I have a tremendous amount of information to call on regarding St. Leonard's Church, the thirteenth-century half-timbered chapel and its remains, the Newland Theological Library and the history of the Beauchamp Almshouses including a history of how they have evolved over the past 150 years. I am able to supply photographs of the elaborate interior of the church with explanations all well documented by Nikolaus Pevsner, Professor James Curl and others. We are currently publishing a new history of the Beauchamp Community (not in print yet). Incidentally, the Beauchamp Almshouses have never been for retired clergy, etc., they were built for retired agricultural labourers - more on that later.
