I'd like to see addition of mention that at least sections of Rte 125 used to be a railroad track. My knowledge of this is little more than acquired local rumor, however, our (Town of Lee) road agent Randy Smith has written a book or booklet on the subject. If and when I know more I will add some information.

Calef naming

edit

"Calef Highway, named after the locally famous Calef's Store in Barrington"

I sincerely doubt it was named after the store, so much as the family. But I may be wrong. I'd like to see a citation on this claim. Huw Powell (talk) 06:02, 17 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

From Barrington, New Hampshire: "named for a state senator from the 1800's whose family also founded the locally famous general store founded in 1869" although it is although uncited. Also, this "locally famous" bit is really pushing it in both articles. Huw Powell (talk) 06:05, 17 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
