Explanation for removal of California Trail references
editNV 233 really doesn't follow the California Trail in any way. It does follow the transcontinental railroad, that's true, which is why I left it. However, the California Trail diverges north of Interstate 80 at Wells, way over by Exit 350, while NV-233 diverges at Exit 378, almost 30 miles further east. The trail remains well to the northwest of NV-233. Examine northeastern Nevada on this NDOT highway map, which shows both roads and the California Trail, and see just how far apart they area (and how much closer the railroad is): http://www.nevadadot.com/uploadedFiles/NDOT/Traveler_Info/Maps/NevadaHighwayMap2011-12.pdf Also note that in Nevada, most of the California Trail is actually closer to US 93 than NV 233.
