I am fairly experienced with networking concepts but I have no idea what NNIs are about despite having read this twice. The words used in the failed attempt at a definition contain way, way too many ambiguities. ‘Interface’ is one prime culprit. Giving truly concrete examples would also help but should not be the only means of giving a definition. The networks mentioned: IP is not an ‘interface’, neither is MPLS, nor SS7, they are protocols or protocol layers, or protocol specifications. Please help clarify this article.
