Text and/or other creative content from Snmpwalk was copied or moved into Net-SNMP with this edit. The former page's history now serves to provide attribution for that content in the latter page, and it must not be deleted as long as the latter page exists.

This is insufficient. The net-snmp site is awfull and the documentation is almost incomprehensible. We still need a good explanation of what it is and how it works.

Net-SNMP is NOT a protocol. Thus, it should not be listed under "application layer protocols". That is, Net-SNMP is a suite of software. The (application layer) protocol is SNMP (more precisely the protocols are SNMPv1, SNMPv2c, SNMPv3, AgentX etc.) See the list of categories at the bottom on the article. 80.4.63.73 (talk) 08:41, 11 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
