- Support The article's current name should be redirected to the proposed name, as it is more descriptive than the current (and I think rather vague) name. The word "Villa" is commonly used especially before grand and prominent residential buildings' names in France. The current name, if not looked into, does not give an idea what the article is about. - Oppose, for several reasons: (1) The word "Villa" is not part of the name of the house, it is simply called "Nellcôte" as witnessed by the name plate to the left of the entrance gate (check out the 3rd picture on this page). (2) I am skeptical to the unexplained claim of "common usage". This article from Rolling Stone by Robert Greenfield refers to the house as "Nellcote" 5 times, while it uses the term "Villa Nellcote" only once. In Bill Wyman's book Rolling with the Stones, the house is likewise referred to as "Nellcote" in the majority of the times it is mentioned. (3) It is AFAIK not required here on Wikipedia that you should be able to know what an article is about just from it's title; that is the role of the lead paragraph, and it is clearly explained that "Nellcôte (often referred to as Villa Nellcôte) is a 19th century sixteen-room mansion...". (4) Villa Nellcôte already redirects to this article, so anyone typing in that name will easily get here. – IbLeo (talk) 21:33, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
- Oppose. As lbLeo points out above, the most common name for this building in English is either Nellcôte or Nellcote. "Villa Nellcôte" should definitely be included in the first sentence of the lead, but the article title should reflect the most common name. Jafeluv (talk) 07:02, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
