Talk:Negrodamus

This really doesnt need to be an article. It should not be more that a good skit on the dave chappelle page.

Proposed Deletion edit

Considering the way people use wikipedia, I would argue that there is indeed a purpose to keeping Negrodamus on a separate page. Someone who heard or read a reference to "Negrodamus" and needed to look it up, because they didn't recognise the reference, is not likely to know to look up Dave Chappelle or any other page that points here. Also, there is not congruently-formatted information about other recurring characters from the show in the Chappelle's Show article; nor should there be, as the likely results of such a change would be either for some of this information to be trimmed down, or for equivalent depth of information about other recurring characters to be added to that article, potentially making the Chappelle's Show article unnecessarily unwieldy.

Unless someone can provide a more compelling reason why this article should be deleted or merged (do please remember that merging articles obliterates history, discussion etc. for one of the two articles), I plan to remove the deletion-proposal tag on 29 March. Not much discussion here and the history is mostly dumping useless quote after quote into the article. This would probably make a nice paragraph in Paul Mooney, but there is no need for a separate article. A merge and redirect is clearly in order. --Dual Freq 23:45, 27 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
You think the article is useless; many others would doubtless disagree (including the users who contributed to the page). Expecting someone trying to find out who or what Negrodamus refers to to look up Paul Mooney is even less realistic than expecting them to know it was a skit on Chappelle's Show. I was far more generous than the official deletion policy when I came across the deletion-proposal tag on this article, and did not immediately (and permanently) strip it off. But since neither any other user, nor even Dual Freq who proposed merger/deletion in the first place, has countered the reasons I gave for retaining the article, it will be retained. You could describe this skit on either Paul Mooney or the Chappel show articles and have this one redirect to that page. You can also collect these quotes in the Wikiquote project, because that is designed for quote listing. Just my two cents. Hewinsj 17:23, 1 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

No problem, I'll just run it up to AfD. --Dual Freq 02:10, 30 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Nostrildamus edit

What does Deonne Warwick or Nostrildamus have to do with Negrodamus? I mean, really? Thunderbunny 04:33, 25 July 2006 (UTC) Really?Reply
