A similar candy exists in Serbia edit

It's also called Negro and it's made by Pionir. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 178.221.1.199 (talk) 14:57, 1 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Use of the word Néger edit

Hungarians never used the word néger to express negative attitude against people with black skin. Please cite your sources if you believe otherwise. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.3.218.49 (talk) 20:20, 20 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Negro design edit

Hungarian 'negro' candy has a long history with the same design. The name and the design used by the Pionir is obviously stolen from the Hungarian one. The name 'negro' comes from Pietro Negro, az Italian manufacturer, who established the brand in Budapest in 1920. Sziketa (talk) 19:16, 20 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Who invented it? edit

The first sentence says: "Negro is a candy originating from Subotica which was invented by József Ruff living and working in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia."

The last sentence says: "The name refers to its inventor, Pietro Negro, and the word "black" (as the most popular version of the candy is black) is not connected to people of African descent."

So, who's the inventor: József Ruff or Pietro Negro? I couldn't find any mention of Pietro Negro in the source given, aside from a few comments that may have just been referencing Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:186:8280:6650:A99C:124E:A02A:A7DB (talk) 18:36, 5 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
