""Chacala is located in Nayarit, as is Rishi Reddy."" I might be missing something obvious here, but could someone please inform me why these people (I presume Chacala is a person) are important for the article. Unless someone convinces me of their world importance I will delete them. The article if almost devoid of information for such a large, important state. Vogensen 22:59, 11 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Chacala is a beach in the Nayarit state I know because I am from there(nayarit). So it is not a person.

What is "Biblical Non-Evangelical"?? edit

Does this mean mainstream protestant, or what? -- 92.229.249.165 (talk) 12:10, 8 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Polytheism, Shamanism

Regarding the religious demographics, aren't the Huichol and Cora non-Christian animists according to wikipedia, and many of the tribesmembers themselves? Don't the presented religious demographics here ignore that? Shouldn't Wikipedia be consistent between the religious demographics on the huichol and cora site, and the nayarit province site? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.180.22.201 (talk) 19:59, 16 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Flora/Fauna edit

The pictures of flora and fauna includes a photo of Crotalus durissus, a species of rattlesnake that according to a reptile database does not in fact reside in Nayarit. I propose replacing that photo with one of a native species, like Crotalus lepidus, Crotalus basiliscus, or Agkistrodon bilineatus. If that's wrong, I wonder whether any of the other photos in that section are of native species as well... Paris1127 (talk) 14:30, 15 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

OK, so delving into the history of the Spanish version of this page, the photos were added by an anonymous IP (189.254.205.150) who has received multiple vandalism warnings according to their talk page. The edit summary, "Szkenaz" seems to be gibberish (but I don't speak Spanish, so I could be wrong), which leads me to believe that so the original edit, which was copied to English in good faith, was either vandalism or just extremely misguided. Fine idea to replace it with a species known to live in Nayarit. User:Maunus ·ʍaunus·snunɐw· 15:16, 15 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
Some of the species mapped have huge ranges, with Nayarit only occupying a small portion (like the Peregrine Falcon and Golden Eagle). The mule deer, according to its article and a map produced by the Smithsonian, doesn't even live in that part of Mexico. That section should either be removed or have some of the photos swapped out with more appropriate ones. Paris1127 (talk) 15:55, 15 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
I dont think it is a problem to have animals with large ranges, the photos are intended to exemplify the fauna of Nayarit not only the fauna exclusive to Nayarit. Fauna that is not endemic to Nayarit should of course be removed.User:Maunus ·ʍaunus·snunɐw· 16:51, 15 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
