Prakash Karat source edit

The cited Prakash Karat source is available here (flip forward and backward through the page images) but I can't see where is specifically says what we claim. - Sitush (talk) 17:17, 18 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Further to the above, and bearing in mind recent stripping-out of the article by various people, I think this thing is as near as makes no difference a hoax. Yes, everything was sourced but the only source that seems to refer to the Nayanar as a subcaste of the Nair is the book by George Mathew, who simply lists Nayanar as one of 18 titles/subcastes found in the Nair community. How much weight do we give to Mathew? Probably not a lot, bearing in mind that the Nairs are among the most studied of Indian castes.

I'm tempted to suggest deleting the article because it would be misrepresentation to redirect it to the Nair article. - Sitush (talk) 15:46, 30 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Alternatively, if the edits I have just reverted stand up to scrutiny, this could be renamed as Nayanar (title), although there likely never would be much to say. - Sitush (talk) 06:22, 31 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
