reference template asked for the sentence The Arabian traders introduced this tree in the Hyderabad please find my research for this sentence and advice.

please see link ( http://www.scribd.com/doc/10522153/The-Baobabs ) page 267 ( it says : There is strong evidence that Arab traders, or their slave cargoes, were responsi-ble for introducing the baobab to Zanzibar, Madagascar, India, Sri Lanka, Penang, Java and the Philippines (Corner 1952; Maheshwari 1971; Armstrong, 1979; Jayaweera 1981).) and
please see the link ( http://www.scribd.com/doc/10522153/The-Baobabs )page 270. ( it says : Maheshwari (1971) suggested that baobabs were introduced into India during the Mogul period, although in view of the above discussion, this would appear to be rather late. Vaid (1978a) accepted the conventional view that Arab, Portuguese and French traders may have been responsible for introducing at least some of the baobabs ) and
please see the link ( http://www.scribd.com/doc/10522153/The-Baobabs )page 40. ( it says : In India, a massive hollow baobab, about 9 m in diameter, growing just outside the famous Mogul fort of Golconda in Andhra Pradesh, is reputed to be at least 1,000 years old. Once a hiding place for thieves and bandits, it is now used by the villag- ers as a shelter on cold winter nights. Its cavernous and callused interior is capable of accommodating 40 people quite comfortably (Chan 1999). )

as qutb shahi sultans do not have much relation with portuges and french traders but Arab traders frequently use to visit deccan and spl golconda for trade of pearls (as golconda use to be called as city of pearls), so as per above statement in the book page 267 and 40, arab traders have introduce the tree to India (as well hyderabad) during mughal period ( which was also qutub shahi period in deccan ). Kindly advice if we can use this link as reference for this sentence in the article, thou, hyderabad is not mention particularly on page 267 in the book but in general as India. --Omer123hussain (talk) 19:39, 29 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I think the reference you have mentioned can be cited here to say that the African Baobab tree was brought to Hyderabad by Arabian traders. I do think, however, that the current one-line sentence does not adequately account for the complexity that you so thoroughly explained. Maybe, saying that the tree was "most likely" brought in by Arabian traders, would be more accurate. Holseyale (talk) 10:14, 5 April 2019 (UTC) HolesayleReply
