On why I changed the name of the page

The page name has been changed from "Navin Jindal" to "Naveen Jindal" as this is the way it is spelt by the man himself. The Parliament of India website (http://parliamentofindia.nic.in/) also mentions his name as "Naveen." The same is true with the website of the company he heads as Vice-Chairman & Managing Director, Jindal Steel & Power limited (http://www.jindalsteelpower.com). Also, "Naveen Jindal" in Google returns 701 hits while "Navin Jindal" returns 567 hits. I rest my case. ---Gurubrahma 06:52, 16 August 2005 (UTC)

Clean up

I have made a number of edits to tidy this article:

  • most importantly, I have tried to make this sound more neutral per WP:NPOV,
  • I have tided capitalisation per WP:MOS;
  • I have removed repeated links and links to ordinary English words per WP:OVERLINK;
  • I have indicated a couple of places where citations or clarification are needed;
  • I have fixed the capitalisation of headings per WP:HEAD;
  • and changed "Naveen" to Jindal" in several places because encyclopedia articles are not on a first-name basis with their subjects

Where a "citation needed" tag has been added, a valid reference to a reliable source must be added per WP:V. Alternatively, the questioned statement can be removed, and re-added when a reference is found. It is incorrect to remove these tags without providing references. If this happens again, I will remove the questioned statements immediately, and will consider protecting this article to prevent further vandalism. Ground Zero | t 14:46, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

There is a lot of material in this article that is unreferenced. Per WP:BLP, it should be removed. i will do so if references are not added soon. I have removed some statements that clearly violate WP:NPOV - this reads as if it were written by his campaign manager or a corporate public relations person, instead of being objective as an encyclopaedia article should be. More editing for neutrality may be needed. Any further removal of the "citation needed" tags will result in unregistered users being blocked from editing this article. • As it seems that there is little interest in providing sources for this stufff, I have removed it per WP:BLP. It can be added back into the article if refereces to reliable sources are provided. I have identified some other statements that need references, and will remove those if none are provided within a reasonable time. Ground Zero | t 14:27, 2 February 2012 (UTC)

Semi-protection

Because of repeated removal of "citation needed" tags and violations of WP:NPOV and WP:MOS, I have protected this article so that unregistered editors cannot make edits. When semi-protection is lifted, I ask that editors discuss edits on this page and get consensus for them before making them so that we can avoid edit wars.
