Identity card number
edit- This is not the Identity card number, but the U-ID number of the person, which identifies the person and not the document. The Identity card number is printed in green on the back side, lower right corner.
- Also non-resident foreigners can apply for such a U-ID number, for example to open bank accounts. I am not sure if these are of the new format or still use the old two-letter & 8 digits format.
- An example on calculating the checksum would be appreciated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 180.217.25.54 (talk) 15:19, 13 November 2022 (UTC)
Alien Residents receive IDs too. But they have a letter C on the seconds place instead of a number for gender. Often those IDs a problematic as ID validation software often does not consider this case which is illegal.
This Wikipedia article also fails to mention the difference in ID numbering system for Alien Residents. --1.165.137.133 (talk) 00:32, 4 March 2018 (UTC)
