Talk:National highways of Pakistan

Latest comment: 1 year ago by 103.39.82.48 in topic pst

Is this the name of a road in Pakistan? From the description it doesn't sound like one. So it's better to merge. Yasirniazkhan 14:21, 20 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Confusing name edit

Mawais1 18:45, 2 December 2006 (UTC) There is no such highway under " Pakistan National Highway " . This might be mixed up with " GT Road " in Pakistan. GT Road ( Grand Trunk Road ) runs from north west of pakistan to all the way to Bangladesh. In india this GT road is called " National Highway 1 and 2 " but in Pakistan it is called GT Road. Also, don't be confused by National Highway Authority, which is responsible for building and maintaining highways and motorways in Pakistan. In my opinion, this " Pakistan National Highway " topic either should be closed or renamed with " GT Road in Pakistan ".Reply

The name of this article is confusing. It sounds like the name of a highway, but there is no highway in Pakistan by the name "Pakistan National Highway". "National Highway" is the official designation of a class of highways in Pakistan. Such highways have an "N" number such as "N-5". Much of this article is derived from List of Highways and Motorways of Pakistan, which was blanked and redirected here. There is no such thing as "Pakistan National Highway". I suggest this article be renamed to "Motorways and National Highways of Pakistan. Yusefsen 07:15, 29 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes you were right, name was confusing. Might be cause the article started about N-5 (longest national highway in Pakistan). Since there is a separate article about Pakistan Motorways (this might also need renaming) I have named this one as National Highways of Pakistan and fixed all incoming links. --Webkami 13:07, 29 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Now renamed to Motorways of Pakistan --Webkami 11:19, 23 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

km lengths edit

Some of the km lengths mentioned in this article were not matching the official records (for example N-5). I have updated them accordingly. I had a look at the Urdu article and saw that there too the same km lengths need to be updated. So I am assuming the English article had just taken over the figures from the Urdu one. Since I can't write Urdu, could someone who does please make those updates and also see whether the Urdu article is still up-to-date? --Ahmerkhan (talk) 08:28, 9 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
