Talk:National emblem of Indonesia

Latest comment: 4 years ago by Mrachmad59 in topic Emblem or coat of arms?
  • why is black related to Muhammad?
  • Is this really a top-importance artice (see WP Indonesia assessment above). Peace. --Nielswik(talk) 10:40, 16 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I think it is a top-importance article and should even be expanded as Indonesia's coat of arms is fascinating. This is the only mostely Muslim country to use different symbolism then others. For starters a bird from Buddist/Hindu mythology, no crescent moon and no green... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.205.159.145 (talk) 10:49, 18 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

In the middle east, Green more usually is thought of in that respect (while black is the color of the Abbasids). AnonMoos (talk)

Emblem or coat of arms? edit

If it is an emblem and not a coat of arms, then where does it violate the rules of heraldry? Burzuchius (talk) 17:48, 30 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

→ According to Embassy of Republic of Indonesia at Washington, DC's website, Indonesia’s official coat of arms is centered on the Garuda, and ancient, mythical bird from the country’s historical epics. Like the Bald Eagle in the United States, the Garuda is often used to represent Indonesia. [1] Mirza R. (talk) 06:44, 7 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
